LAST GASP GOAL GIVES UNITED THE POINTS

10th May 2003

On this United's fourth and last game against Livingston in the current campaign a win was essential and it was provided courtesy of a goal from Charlie Miller with the last kick of the game.

Jim McIntyre had given United a second minute lead in the first half when he headed home a looping cross from Lilley and some Russell Latapy magic in the Livingston penalty box deserved a goal but his strike hit the upright and bounced out of play.

Livingston had the better chances over the whole game and David Bingham, playing in his 200th game for the home side nipped in to grab a deserved equaliser with only ten minutes of the game remaining and a draw looked likely until that late Miller goal.

With Motherwell losing at Hibs, United are now four points ahead of the bottom club and a victory next week at Partick will see the Terrors completely avoid finishing last.
