UNITED UNDER-21S LOSE TO CELTIC

12th May 2003

United's Under-21 side travelled to Airdrie to meet Celtic in the last game of the current campaign and found the home side too strong in the first half. By the interval Celtic, already the Under-21s league winners had stormed into an almost unassailable 3-0 lead against the Tangerines.

Changes were made after the break with the introduction of highly rated Under-18 players Stephen McGowan (pictured) and Graeme Holmes and coach Tony Docherty said he was pleased with the showing in the second half in which United did well and scored through an O'Donnell penalty and then through McGowan.

Final Score: Celtic Under-21s 4 Dundee United 2
