To avoid unwanted speculation, Malcolm Brown (spokesperson for Dundee United) speaking on behalf of Eddie Thompson, Chairman of Morning Noon & Night and Dundee United has confirmed that Mr Thompson is currently undergoing treatment as an outpatient at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for prostate cancer.
Malcolm Brown said, "However, thanks to Mr Thompson having regular health checks the prostate cancer has been caught at a very early stage meaning that he has an excellent chance of a full recovery.
"The treatment will be ongoing over the next few weeks during which time he will be carrying out his normal business activity with MN&N and Dundee United.
"He is full of praise for the staff at Ninewells Hospital who have been superb in helping him through this period. He would also like to encourage other men to have regular testing for the signs of prostate cancer as early detection and treatment can basically save lives."
