UNITED TO PAY FOR SUPPORTERS’ BUSES AGAIN!

2nd January 2004

Subsidised Travel for United Fans - The Board of Dundee United has agreed to provide the Federation of Dundee United Supporters’ Clubs with subsidised bus travel to next week’s Scottish Cup tie at Dunfermline. A similar exercise was undertaken last season to encourage a greater support at crucial away fixtures and proved highly successful. The scheme will operate in exactly the same way as previously and, as before, is available only to supporters’ clubs affiliated to the Federation. All bookings and enquiries must be directed to the Federation and not Dundee United. Any member club wishing to take advantage of the subsidy must contact Federation Chairman Angus Falconer on 07931 888732 in the first instance, before confirming their travel arrangements. Dundee United Manager Ian McCall said, “The backing of the fans is hugely important to the team and could be a crucial factor in this game. A large vociferous travelling support will go a long way to help offset the fact that we are away from home. I think the fans can sense that we’re all in this together now and I hope as many Arabs as possible make the trip to Dunfermline next week.” Federation Chairman Angus Falconer said, “The Federation of Dundee United Supporters’ Clubs wishes to thank the Board for once again subsidising our travel costs. These arrangements have always proved to be a big success and we’re sure that this added incentive will ensure that Arabs turn out in force next week to support Ian McCall and the team."
