SCOTTISH PREMIER LEAGUE PRESS RELEASE

22nd June 2004

The Court of Session announced this morning that Partick Thistle's application for an interim interdict against the SPL was not successful.

The SPL, in a General Meeting, proceeded to consider the resolution put forward by Heart of Midlothian and Hibernian regarding Inverness Caledonian Thistle's application to use Pittodrie Stadium as its registered ground for season 2004-2005. This resolution was approved by the SPL's member clubs.

On a separate matter, Executive Chairman, Lex Gold commented: "The member clubs also sanctioned the various rule changes relating to the SPL Stadia Criteria which in effect reduce the minimum number of seats under cover of a roof required from 10,000 to 6,000. These changes will apply to promotion to the SPL for season 2005-06. In future, decisions regarding the application of membership criteria rules will be made by the new five-man SPL board.

"This has been a truly difficult time for Scottish football. These new rules aim to ensure that we do not have a repeat of these events. A huge step forward has been taken."
