NINE TROPHIES SCOOPED AT DUNDEE UNITED'S PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARDS

The official opening will take place at 10am on Friday, 13 August, and will be performed by the Chairman, Eddie Thompson and Manager, Ian McCall. All of the first team squad will also be in attendance to help serve the first customers and to provide autographs. The opening of the shop will also see the new first team kit going on sale for the first time.
Dundee United operations director Gibby Haggart said, "The decision to move the retail operation closer to Tannadice came about as a result of the major consultation exercise carried out last year. An overwhelming majority of supporters stated that would prefer the shop to be located at, or near to, Tannadice and that's exactly what we've done - at a six figure cost.
"The shop is housed in a former engineering store and, internally, is now unrecognisable from its former state. It's been a major task to transform the premises in such a short time and I'd like to thank all the businesses and tradesmen (most of whom are United supporters) who have worked so hard to meet our very tight timescales. In fact, we are now opening ahead of schedule, thanks to them."
General Manager Bill Campbell added, "We are delighted to be opening the new shop in the run up to the first derby of the season, with the added bonus of having the new first team kit on sale for the first time. I am positive that the new retail premises will prove extremely popular with our fans in the months and years to come and that this will be an investment which will be repaid many times over.
Because the shop is opening ahead of our original schedule, some stock lines are not yet ready but this will be rectified over the next few weeks and months. The important thing was to get the premises open."
Shop opening hours this weekend are 10am - 6.30pm (Friday), 9am - 6pm (Saturday) and 11am - 5pm (Sunday), although the Shop will be closed during
the game on Sunday. Regular opening hours will be advised in due course, but it is anticipated that there will be late night opening to 8pm every Thursday.
