CUP FINAL VOUCHERS

14th April 2005

While the exact ticket allocation has yet to be confirmed, the Club has moved swiftly to ensure that as many Dundee United fans as possible obtain tickets and that this is done in a fair manner.

The Club has already announced that priority will be given to season ticket holders and those in possession of a semi final ticket stub. In addition, vouchers will now be issued to all United fans who attend the next two home games - starting with this Saturday's game against Hearts. Holders of two vouchers will also be entitled to apply for a cup final ticket in one of the priority sales periods.

It is anticipated that cup final ticket sales will start week commencing Monday 2 May, firstly to season ticket holders and then to semi final ticket stub holders. From Monday, 9 May, tickets will go on sale to voucher holders and on general sale from the week commencing 16 May. It is stressed that these arrangements must still be regarded as provisional and will be confirmed in due course. For ease of clarification, if a season ticket holder has a semi final stub and collects both vouchers, he or she will be entitled to apply for three cup final tickets. Similarly, non season ticket holders who attended the semi and who collect both vouchers, will be entitled to apply for two tickets.

Chairman Eddie Thompson said, "We have been inundated with enquiries about tickets ever since we qualified for the final and thought it best to move quickly to put plans in place to satisfy the demand. I am confident that we will receive a fair allocation of tickets from the SFA but demand will be high and fans want to know where they stand. I wanted to make sure that we had a system that firstly, ensured that those fans who attend week in, week out, received priority status and that secondly, provided a recognised mechanism to satisfy other demand.

The voucher system will not only provide an additional way to obtain priority for tickets but will, hopefully, encourage more fans to attend Tannadice and give the team their backing in the important games ahead. We've had a great week so far but our priority must remain to improve our league position. It is likely that five of our final six fixtures will be in the City of Dundee, starting with this week's game against Hearts. Our season starts now. We must build on the recent good results and the supporters' role, as ever, will be crucial. They can act as our twelfth man and maybe just give us that vital spark or extra ounce of energy at critical stages in these games. I would urge as many as possible to turn out and get right behind the team."

It is stressed that until the full allocation of tickets is known, the Club cannot guarantee cup final tickets, only priority status.
