CLUB PAYS TRIBUTE TO FANS

29th May 2005

The Chairman, Directors, management and players of Dundee United would like to pay tribute to the magnificent backing of our fans at Hampden.

Despite initial scepticism in some quarters, some 17,000 United fans attended the game - the biggest ever United support at a Scottish Cup final - and made the occasion both colourful and memorable. Despite being outnumbered, Arabs turned Hampden into a sea of tangerine and outsung their opponents for much of the game. Even at the final whistle, despite the disappointment, it was difficult to tell from the reaction of the fans which team had won.

This year, in a break from tradition, Dundee United fans were awarded our Special Player of the Year Award at the Club's Annual Dinner. On Saturday, it was easy to see why - and to see why we are all Proud to be Arabs!

With support like this the future really is bright - and really is tangerine.
