UEFA TRAVEL - THE FACTS!

22nd July 2005

In view of some ill informed comments being posted elsewhere, reliance on which may actually lead to supporters wishing to travel to our first away leg being disappointed, we have now included some important Frequently Asked Questions on the Travel Club home page.

Supporters wishing to travel abroad should bear in mind that it is 70% likely that we will be drawn against a team in a location that will be difficult to get to, within normally accepted journey times. Low cost airline options are not really viable for most of these, unless a variety of transport systems are utilised and an overall journey time of in excess of 20 hours is accepted. By contrast, our charters will deliver you to within a few miles of our destination and right to the door of your hotel and the stadium.

The FAQs also cover the need for early deposits, necessitated by a shortage of charter aircraft and a requirement to formally commit to the hire of these within two hours of the draw on the 29th July.

Finally, in view of constructive feedback received, our travel partners have agreed to alter the terms and conditions to allow deposits to be refunded should we be drawn against a team from the UK or Ireland. The booking form is being altered to accommodate a choice in this matter.

We would like though to thank you for your response and interest so far. We are now taking bookings and would like to remind fans that places are subject to availability and on a first come first served basis.

Extra staff will be on hand from the DUFC Travel Club in Dundee United Direct from 10am until 4pm on both this Saturday and Sunday of the Discovery Cup. They will be happy to answer any further queries you may have and also to take your deposits.

We look forward to seeing you.
