TASSOS MAY PLAY AGAINST RANGERS

30th October 2000

After another encouraging performance on Saturday, despite the clash with Hibs ending in a single goal defeat, United will keep changes for Tuesday night's CIS Cup clash with Rangers to a minimum.

Manager Alex Smith believes the attitude and commitment shown against Hibs will turn the team's fortunes around. With a string of good performances to reflect on, Alex has admitted he is tempted to go with the same starting line-up, though Greek Under-21 star Tassos Venetis is in his thoughts. "He played very well at Parkhead and again when he came on against Hibs. He is still a young lad making his way in the game, but we have high hopes for him."

Midfielder David Hannah could again miss out because of the groin problem he suffered in the League clash at Ibrox at the beginning of the month.
