A draw was no less than a very young United side deserved in tonight's Reserve league clash at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium.
Billy Dodds was the only outfield player in tangerine with any real experience and, unilke all his other games for the Reserves this season when he has featured in the heart of the defence, tonight he partnered David Goodwillie in attack.
A bright start by the home side earned them a penalty after only five minutes when Ross Gardiner brought down Alan Morgan.
However, Craig Samson, diving to his left, saved a rather tame effort from Dennis Wyness.
Indeed, penalties were the story of the first half with both teams having decent shouts for spot-kicks rejected before the deadlock was broken from spot.
For ICT, Dennis Wyness went down in the box with no award forthcoming and, at the other end, David Goodwillie suffered a similar fate after taking a tumble following a challenge from home keeper Mike Fraser.
On the half hour mark, Goodwillie did win a penalty after being tripped by Guy Kerr and David Robertson confidently converted with a side-footed effort.
Ten minutes into the second half, only the bar prevented the Tannadice team from increasing their lead, with Barry Callaghan's tremendous strike crashing against the crossbar.
As the game wore on, Caley Thistle's greater experience began to tell and, with sixteen minutes left, Stuart McCaffrey netted following a corner.
Near the end, Junajo had a chance to grab the winner, but his effort went just past the post, but had it gone in, it would have been an injustice on the hard-working visitors.
