UNDER-19s WIN 4 - 1 IN SFA YOUTH CUP

13th November 2005

The youths were made to work hard before finally overcoming their Fraserburgh Highland League opponents in this afternoon's SFA Youth tie at Bellslea Park.

The home side had two good chances early on, before the young Tangerines started to get a grip on the game with Robbie Feeney twice bringing out good saves by keeper Calum McRobb.

However, the homesters suffered a major blow after 29 minutes for being deemed last man when McRobb brought down Feeney and was red-carded and sub keeper Mark Simpson took over between the sticks. Nothing came from the resultant free-kick.

Just a minute of the first half remained when the visitors finally went in front, David Goodwillie's cross from the right being cleared to Marco Andreoni on the edge of the box who drilled it home.

Andreoni was on target again seven minutes into the second half from the penalty spot after Billy West brought down Feeney.

The lively Feeney made it three after 62 minutes when he fired home from ten yards.

Seven minutes later, the Broch pulled one back, Muir Murray's corner being headed home by West.

United was at a numerical disadvantage ten minutes from time when Kieran McAleenan was shown yellow by the ref for the second time after an altercation with substitute Ross Cardno.

Another sub, David Gray hit the visitors' fourth and final goal, first-timing a volley after Andreoni's cross was cleared to him on the edge of the box.
