Saving for a 'rainy day' was a very appropriate sentiment as a downpour appeared just as Soccer Savings' Sales & Marketing Director Mark Moran lined up with United Director Derek Robertson and one of the Tangerines' own savers, keeper Craig Samson for a photograph to mark the official launch of the Dundee United Soccersaver project.
United supporters can open a Soccersaver account at the Dunfermline Building Society and they will receive a United style passbook. United will benefit from the total amount of money on deposit in the United Soccersaver accounts.
On Thursday the 8th of December, there will be a launch at the Dunfermline Building Society on Reform Street. Players will be in attendance along with the United mascot Terry the Terror.
