It's that time of year again - too few football matches to occupy the attention, so newspapers have to go big on speculation. And that can mean short on facts.
Here at United, we've got a strict policy when it comes to transfer speculation - a polite "no comment." We don't believe it's fair to the players involved, the manager or our fans to fuel speculation about who may, or may not be, making their way to Tannadice before a deal is done and we can introduce the player to the fans.
The Manager and his backroom staff will be inquiring about many players over the close season - some will be pulling on a United jersey next season, others won't. Either way, we'll try to make sure that this is where you'll learn about our new signings first.
We'll aim to have news and pictures of new faces posted on the site before the ink is dry on the player's contract. Keep checking back over the summer for official news of any comings and goings from Tannadice.
