BLACK WATCH TRIBUTE

9th November 2009

The troops will parade around Tannadice at 7.30pm, some 15 minutes before kick, off to allow supporters to show their appreciation in a community tribute to their bravery and dedication. Due to the close proximity to Remembrance Sunday, a minute's silence will be held before kick off.

The idea behind this tribute stemmed from the "Black Watch Arabs" sending a photo to the Club from Afghanistan. This led to them becoming an affiliated supporters' club and an invitation to attend a game as guests of the Club on their return. The Club worked alongside ArabTRUST and the United for All charity to make the arrangements - the Chairman of United for All, Dave Mulholland, is also a serving officer with Tayforth UOTC and was able to liaise directly with the troops in Afghanistan.

Receiving the tickets from Chairman Stephen Thompson today were brothers-in-law LCpl Ryan Richardson and LCpl Barry Thomson.
