One year and a day after joining United from Belenenses, Joaquim Ferraz said goodbye to his ex-teammates today and has flown home to Portugal to sign for Maritimo da Madeira.
The big striker made a great start to his United career when he came off the bench to score the winner in the derby match against Dundee on 31 July 1999. He eventually played 36 times for the Club and scored six goals
