SUPPORTERS SURVEYED

14th June 2001

United have launched the biggest-ever survey of their support in a bid to improve services for Tangerine fans. Almost 5000 season ticket holders have been invited to complete a detailed questionnaire covering topics such as price of season tickets, quality of food, customer care, replica strips and public relations.

The questionnaire was only sent out shortly after the end of the season, but already replies are flooding into Tannadice. Included was a question on access to the Shed at Tannadice. Having opened the Shed specifically for United fans during key games last season, United are keen to establish supporters' views on continuing the practice next season.

"The survey is a first for United. It will give the Club the kind of information we need to be able to tailor services for our fans. We want to hear from supporters where we're doing well and where we need to do better," said Commercial Manager Bill Campbell on Thursday.

"We've also taken this opportunity to ask our fans about the practice of opening the Shed to home fans for selected games. We tried it as an experiment last season and it seems to have been an unqualified success. The response from the supporters was fantastic, but before we make a decision about next season we'd like fans to tell us if they think it's a good or bad idea. The more people who return questionnaires the better able we'll be to improve our services. The response so far has been really encouraging."
