'KEEPER COACH STEWART JOINS UNITED

Goalkeeping coach Jim Stewart is joining the Tannadice backroom staff on a part-time basis to work with the club's three keepers and replaces Roy Baines, who it was anounced on 12 June, had taken on a full-time post at Livingston.

Stewart, a former international 'keeper who made his name with Kilmarnock and served Middlesbrough, Rangers, Dumbarton and St Mirren between 1970 and 1984, also has coaching roles at Kilmarnock and Hearts. The abilities of the Scotland Under-21 coach are well known to Manager Alex Smith who said: "Jim is an excellent coach and will work up to two days a week with Paul Gallacher, Alan Combe and Paul Jarvie."
