Dev League: County 0 United 2

28th April 2016

The Tangerines deservedly took full points from their final away game at the Highland Academy in Dingwall  this afternoon thanks to second half goals from Ali Coote and Jordan Garden. By Peter Rundo Both teams went at it hammer and tongs in an evenly contested first half. County's Greg Morrison was twice denied by United keeper Joe McGovern, whilst his opposite number Mark Foden kept out efforts by Aaron Murrell and Harry Souttar. McGovern again saved from Morrison as County made a sprightly start to the second half. However, it was United who went ahead ten minutes after the restart through Coote. He played the ball out to Gav Ritchie and took the long range return to cut inside and fire home at the near post. Although the visitors had the better of things, twice McGovern preserved the lead with saves from Sam MacIvor and a Chris McLaughlin free-kick. Six minutes from time, Garden sealed victory with the second, turning in Murrell’s low cross. Dundee United: McGovern, Tumilty, Ritchie, Allardice, McNaughton, H Souttar, Coote  (Johnson 77), Ballantyne, Garden, Murrell, Taylor (M Smith 75). Subs not used: Booth, B Smith, Davie.
