UNITED 2 DUNDEE 2

28th July 2001

A last-gasp injury time goal by Jim Hamilton gave United a share of the points against city rivals Dundee today at Tannadice.

Charlie Miller should have put United ahead after twenty minutes when his penalty kick hit the bar but nine minutes later the sinner turned saint when he scored the opener.

United's lead was short-lived as Dundee levelled the score in the 31st minute through Juan Sara and Gavin Rae put the Dark Blues ahead early in the second half.

It was a lead the vistors held until the third minute of injury time
when Hamilton nodded home a brilliant Jim Paterson corner - to ensure the points were shared and ignite the United end of the ground in wild celebrations.
