Defender Stephen Wright is closing in on a return to first team action after impressing manager Alex Smith in the closed-door win over Aberdeen on Monday.
Wright has been out with knee trouble since last October, but Alex has pencilled in early next month for the former Aberdeen and Rangers defender's return.
''Stephen played very well against the Dons and with the under-21 league starting next week he'll get a few more games soon. That should leave him on course for the first team by the beginning of September and that will be a definite boost,'' said Alex on Tuesday.
