After the disappointment of losing the first Under 21 match of the season against St. Johnstone last week United went to Paisley tonight, turned on the style, and ran out emphatic 7-0 winners.
Incredibly it was 0-0 at half-time but in the second half United's fitness and superior strength against what appeared to be a very young Paisley team proved irresistible with Paisley-born Stephen Thompson looking particularly effective against his home town team.
Comeback man Jamie Fullarton, no stranger to St. Mirren Park, completed another full 90 minutes and that was another encouraging aspect of an extraordinary match
