New signing Stephen Carson could find himself a place on the United bench at Perth, although Alex Smith admits that he may decide to wait until next week before blooding the former Rangers winger.
The Manager explained,"The problem is that he was a week late in starting his pre-season at Ibrox, and didn't do much training when he was down south at Stoke last week."
Happily for United, Jim Paterson completed his first training session of the week without any ill effects, and is now back amongst his manager's selection options for the derby but it's unlikely that Steven Thompson will be included as his ankle injury is taking longer than expected to clear.
