United have decided not to sign Brian Carrigan, who has been
training at Tannadice since pre-season training got under way.
Alex Smith explained, "Brian plays in the same area as Charlie
Miller and, being realistic, would only have got a game if Charlie was out of the side, and I am not going to sign people simply to strengthen the squad."
Now Carrigan looks likely to join a club through in the West although a sticking point may be Stockport County's previously stated desire to recoup some of the money they paid Clyde for Carrigan's services fourteen months ago.
