Morton Match Report

27th January 2018

A disappointing day at Tannadice for Laszlo’s men as they finished the day 11 points adrift of St Mirren in the race for the Championship title.

First Half:

The warning signs were there for the home team when in the second minute Oliver nodded the ball into the United net however the linesman raised his flag to spare United.

Morton didn’t have to wait long to take the lead, and it was very similar to the one that they were denied, a cross into the six-yard box from Tidser’s free-kick found Tam O’Ware two yards from goal and he buried the ball beyond Lewis.

Second Half:

United fell further behind on the 47th minute when Tiffoney collected a loose ball 25 yards from goal and drove an unstoppable shot into the top corner leaving Harry Lewis clutching air.

In the 80th minute, the game was put to bed by Morton when Jack Iredale made it 0-3.  In an incredible run, he left four United players in his wake and finished past Lewis with confidence.

Man of the Match:  Mark Durnan. On a day where few in tangerine shone, Durnan won most of his individual battles but that counted for little on the day.
