SCOUTING NETWORK EXPANDED

1st June 2018

Dundee United are delighted to announce a further expansion to the scouting network. Paul Sturrock becomes the Club's Chief Scout (previously Scout, England), and Dave Bowman has been appointed to the new position of Scout, Scotland.

Dave joined United as a player in 1986 and went on to play 429 times scoring 12 goals. He played six times for Scotland. He has held a variety of coaching positions on and off at Tannadice since and was most recently the Under-20s coach. He will now use his vast expertise and knowledge in a role that will cover scouting and player identification across Scotland and offer scouting support elsewhere.

Dave said, "Having been at United for over 30 years, this Club is a significant part of my life, and I am excited to be offered this role. It is a fantastic opportunity for me.

"I am delighted to accept the position, and cannot wait to get involved playing a big part in player-identification and the development of Dundee United moving forward."

Chairman Mike Martin said, "I am delighted that Dave accepted the role that strengthens our scouting network. He has substantial knowledge and experience in the game and his ability to spot a player is excellent."

The Club also confirmed that further changes to the coaching structure would be announced later today.
