MONTROSE TEST FOR O'BRIEN

4th September 2001

Loan signing from Juventus Ronnie O'Brien is to be handed a jersey when United meet Montrose in a closed-door friendly on Tuesday evening

If O'Brien, who has been at Tannadice for over three weeks, shows he is match fit he will have a chance of making his Tangerines debut at Livingston on Saturday.

It's been a frustrating time for the Dubliner. First of all he had problems with his clearance, then sudden heavy rain washed out last week's Forfarshire Cup match at Brechin.

"Ronnie's had to wait a while but the manager wanted this game with Saturday in mind, so if he shows up well he could be involved in the first team squad," said coach John Blackley.

Also involved could be the likes of Stephen Wright and Jamie Fullarton.
