NINE TROPHIES SCOOPED AT DUNDEE UNITED'S PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARDS

A sixty-second minute goal by Paul Burns (pictured left) was enough for United's youths to defeat their Alloa Athletic equivalents and move forward to the fourth round of the BP Youth Cup.
United coach Paul Hegarty stuck with the team which basically has made such an impressive start to the Under-21 League. The only changes were the inclusion of Sean Callaghan at left back and Paul Burns up front in place of the injured Ryan Waddell and John McKenzie respectively. The promising John Shine was on the bench.
In the fourth minute influential midfielder Stephen O'Donnell fired a free kick just over the bar from 25 yards and United had the ball in the net after fifteen minutes but Paul Burns' effort was ruled off-side.
United came closest to scoring just two minutes from half-time when O'Donnell's looping header was cleared onto the bar and out by an Alloa defender.
On the hour mark Shine replaced McMenemy and moved into the defence with skipper Mark Wilson slotting in to midfield. Two minutes later United took the lead when Burns headed O'Donnell's corner home at the near post.
Ther was no further scoring and the match ended at 1-0 for United.
