FULLARTON PUSHES FOR FIRST TEAM BERTH

30th October 2001

United midfielder Jamie Fullarton is pushing hard for a first team recall after turning in an impressive display in yesterday's Under-21 win at Easter Road. Jamie got the full ninety minutes in the 3-0 win and Manager Alex Smith admitted he was now in his thoughts for a place in Saturday's city derby at Dens Park. "It's now a matter of deciding whether he is ready for the first team again or if he needs another game, but his progress has been very good", said the Manager.

Fullarton, who joined United from Crystal Palace, has been out of the top team picture because of a groin problem. To date, he has managed only three first team starts and two substitute berths for the United first eleven.
