ALEX SMITH ON MOTHERWELL MATCH

26th October 2001

United Team Manager Alex Smith is keen to get United back to winning ways tomorrow in the SPL match against Motherwell at Tannadice Park. "All the first team squad are fit and available for selection other than Jamie McCunnie who is on Scotland Under-19 duty," stated Alex. "It is likely that I will bring in the greatly experienced Stephen Wright who is back to full fitness and who will be looking forward to top team action. Charlie Miller, who missed last Saturday's match at Parkhead has been training and is available for selection."

The Tangerines' Boss is currently considering his options for the match which will be the Fir Park side's first match under the new management team of Eric Black and former United coach Terry Butcher. "I will decide during this evening and into tomorrow what my final formation will be. It is very important that we bounce back from last Saturday's disappointment and that we take all three points. The task will not be made any easier by the fact that this will be Eric and Terry's first game in charge. I have great respect for both these men and I wish them all the best in their new roles but only after tomorrow's match against us!"
