WOMEN'S TEAM UPDATE - MATCH PREVIEW AND MONTHLY AWARDS

6th November 2020

The Women’s squad are on the road in the SBSSWPL2 again this Sunday with a trip to Glasgow.

After Wednesday’s clash at home to Glasgow was postponed due to floodlight failure, they will face Queen’s Park at Lesser Hampden with a 2pm kick-off.

Being out of action meant they fell to seventh after the midweek fixtures but have a game in hand over some of the teams above, including the Spiders who sit in sixth.

The last clash between the pair was in March of this year in the voided SWPL Cup campaign when United came out on top 5-2. Tammy Harkin netted a hat trick with Danni McGinley and Ellie-Jai Reid also appearing on the score sheet.

Queen’s Park have had a mixed start to the season, with two wins and two defeats from their first four games. The last seven days have seen them lose 5-1 away to leaders Aberdeen before two goals in the last fifteen minutes helped them come from behind to defeat Boroughmuir Thistle 3-1 on Wednesday.

Philippa McCallum will be hoping to make her first appearance of the season on Sunday after a lengthy injury, meanwhile Danni McGinley is making great progress. Ellie-Jai Reid remains a long term absentee.

Updates for this will be on Twitter @dundeeunitedwfc while highlights will be available on YouTube at a later time.

In other women's team news, the side announced their first monthly award winners today. Close season signing Rebecca Foote won Player of the Month with 46% of the vote after impressive performances in her first two games for the Club, whilst Tammy Harkin grabbed Goal of the Month with 32% for her long range strike at Aberdeen on October 18th.
