FIGHTING FIT

10th October 2001

Less than twelve hours after United's victory over St. Johnstone, coach Paul Hegarty reflected this morning at Tannadice on last night's victory in the CIS Cup.

"We're all delighted with the performance and pleased to be in the next round. It was a great effort on behalf of the players to keep coming back at St. Johnstone. There's a lot of fighting spirit in this team. What was very pleasing for the coaching staff was that they kept it going for 120 minutes. They're in good shape. When you see how the other results went, with so many big guns now out, we're very much looking forward to the quarter-final draw."

"The players who played last night have today off. There were no obvious injuries last night, just the usual bumps and bruises. If anyone feels they have an injury problem they will come in for treatment this morning. So far no -one has appeared."
