UNITED ON LOAN

30th November 2020

Although the first team was not in action this weekend, there was still plenty for our Young Terrors on loan.

18-year-old Archie Meekison continued his fine scoring form with another goal in Spartans 3-1 home win over Dalbeattie Star in their Lowland League clash at Ainslie Park. The Star took the lead in the first half but Archie equalised with a fine finish after being involved in a great move and once Spartans took the lead just on the stroke of half time, they were able to see out the win comfortably.

Young centre back Ross Graham played the full 90 minutes in Cove Rangers' closely fought 1-1 draw away at Airdrie in a top of the table League One clash, while Chris Mochrie also took in a full match as Montrose fell to a 1-0 defeat to Partick Thistle at Links Park.

It was also tight affair at Balmoor Park on Saturday as Forfar managed to come away with a fine 1-0 win against their fellow League One competitors Peterhead. Although disappointed to be on the losing side, young full-back Kieran Freeman managed to get another 90 mins under his belt, while fellow United teammate Flo Hoti was an unused sub for Forfar.

Kelty Hearts continued their fine form with another win away to Gala Fairydean. They climb to second in the Lowland League table after their hard-fought 2-1 win at Netherdale. Young Nathan Cooney was an unused sub.

In the local East Region Junior league, East Craigie had another fine performance at Lochee Harp. They had a comfortable 7-1 away win in what was young Lewis Fraser’s first outing for them after his recent loan being approved.

Mackenzie Lemon played the full 90 mins in Dundee North Ends 1-1 draw with Dundee Violet although it was former United player Jordan Garden scoring for the Violet.

Cammy Smith was cup-tied having featured for United in the Betfred Cup group stage back in October and so did not take part in Ayr United's 4-0 defeat away at Livingston.
