UNITED APPEAL TO SUPPORTERS

15th November 2001

Dundee United have warned they will take action against supporters caught standing in seated areas at Tannadice.

Following discussions with Tayside Police, the Club has renewed an appeal to fans to stay seated during matches.

Stewards removed seven supporters from the Shed End during the Dunfermline game and United say the Club will have no choice but to repeat the action if safety regulations continue to be flouted.

"We don't want to spoil fans' enjoyment - but they must realise that, under the terms of our safety certificate which we need to operate as a football club, standing in seated areas is not permitted", said a spokesman.

"This is not a huge problem at the moment, but we want to act now to ensure all supporters can watch the game in safety and comfort".
