PAUL HEGARTY PREVIEWS YOUTH CUP TIE

22nd November 2001

This evening at Tannadice, the United Under 18 team take on Aberdeen in an SFA Youth Cup Fourth Round tie. The United Under 18's, who currently sit in fifth position in the sixteen team Under 18 League and just seven points off leaders Hearts but with a game in hand, are eager to progress to the next round of this prestigious tournament and Coach Paul Hegarty is anticipating an exciting game.

"All the lads are looking forward to the match. The Youth Cup threw up a few shocks in earlier rounds with some teams from the lower divisions through to the last eight. We are hoping that we can join them."

Paul highlighted some of the Under 18's who have been performing well recently. "Steven Anderson, Sean Callaghan, Stephen O'Donnell, Danny Ogunmade, Stephen McGowan (pictured above left). All have been playing well however I have to say that overall it has been a team effort."

"The last time we played Aberdeen at this level we won, but I am sure the Dons will want to reverse that this evening. It is up to us to ensure that we maintain our winning ways and that will only come about through hard work and application."

The match kicks off at 7.00pm and Season Ticket Holders can gain entry on production of their Season Ticket book. Pay at the gate prices are
