Alex Smith felt United's 2-1 win over St Johnstone yesterday could possibly have been more emphatic when he spoke after the game. In particular he referred to the second-half incident involving Saints' on-loan 'keeper Alan Miller and United's Steven Thompson.
"From where I was, I thought we would have had a penalty there. The referee maybe saw something I didn't see, but he called it as he saw it."
"As far as the sendings-off were concerned, the referee had no option because it was both linesmen who spotted the infringements. The referee just acted in accordance with the linesmen's thoughts on it."
