HAMILTON APPEAL UPHELD

22nd November 2001

The appeal made by Dundee United on behalf of Jim Hamilton has been successful. The United striker was red carded for violent conduct at last Saturday's match against St Johnstone but he insisted that he was innocent to Manager Alex Smith who then backed his player's protestations having watched the video footage for himself.

With the appeal on behalf of the player having been upheld by the SFA Disciplinary Committee, Jim is now not only free to play against Dunfermline at East End Park this Saturday but he will not face further suspension as he has not now passed the sixteen penalty points threshold.
