DYLAN LEVITT TO REPRESENT WALES AT THE WORLD CUP

9th November 2022

Dundee United are delighted by the news that Dylan Levitt will represent Wales at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar later this month.

Dylan, who returned to the club from Manchester United in the summer, has 13 international appearances under his belt at the tender age of 21.

His first involvement with the squad came in August 2019 when he was an unused substitute against Croatia, before going on to make his full debut less than seven months later against Finland, clashing with future teammates Carljohan Eriksson and Ilmari Niskanen.

This will be the second major tournament he will feature at, after making a brief cameo at Euro 2020 against eventual winners Italy in Group A.

The midfielder sparkled in an elegant display against Poland last time he pulled on the red of Wales in September during their UEFA Nations League campaign, playing 72 minutes in a narrow 1-0 defeat.

Rob Paige’s side secured their ticket to Qatar and a first World Cup appearance since 1958 with a breathless 1-0 victory against Ukraine in June, LAFC star Gareth Bale’s early free-kick proving to be the winner at a raucous Cardiff City Stadium.

Dylan picked up where he left off in tangerine after a permanent switch from Premier League giants Manchester United in July, as he opened his account for the season on Matchday One of the cinch Premiership with a trademark, thunderous strike at Rugby Park.

The ‘silky Welshman’ went on to play a pivotal role in our UEFA Conference League win versus Eredivisie leaders AZ Alkmaar and more recently found the net in Glasgow with a teasing delivery to the back stick which nestled into the corner as United equalised against Celtic in the dying embers of the match.

The Dragons will face off against fellow UK outfit England, Iran and the United States in Group B.
