ALL THE INFO | ABERDEEN (A)

11th November 2022

We take to the pitch for the final time head of the FIFA World Cup as the Terrors clash with Aberdeen under the Pittodrie lights.

Opponent Lowdown

Aberdeen endured a disappointing 2021/22 campaign where they finished in the bottom six for the first time since being consigned to that fate by United forward Rory Boulding in dramatic fashion.

They have responded with interest this season though, and sit third in the cinch Premiership table - boasting big wins over Hibernian, Kilmarnock and Livingston in the Granite City. Alongside a positive start to the league, they have secured a place at Hampden for the League Cup Semi-Finals.

Summer signing Bojan Miovski has hit the ground running, with ten goals in his opening 14 matches for the Dons, whilst comeback kid Johnny Hayes has been effective in the wider regions.

Jim Goodwin's men were dismantled last time out on Tayside, as quickfire goals from Aziz Behich and Tony Watt on the stroke of half-time swung the pendulum in favour of the hosts. United consolidated their end to the first period with a further two goals, a Jamie McGrath penalty and comical own goal from Ross McCrorie, and claimed a first three points of the season.

The Terrors secured a place at Hampden with their last win at Pittodrie, Marc McNulty's strikes either side of a bullet header from Ryan Edwards seeing us run away with the tie, 3-0 the final score.
