ABBIE CUSACK JOINS DUFCW ON LOAN

23rd August 2023

Dundee United Women have bolstered their squad as Abbie Cusack joins on a season-long loan from Celtic, subject to SFA approval.

Cusack, who operates as a centre back, makes the move to Foundation Park where she will hope to replicate the success of Leigha Dobbins’ loan spell last season.

The 19-year-old has been involved with the first team at Celtic but will look to make a breakthrough in the senior game during her time at United.

Speaking after signing, Cusack said “Dundee United are a massive club and I’m excited to get playing and continue my development at a first-team level. I’m hoping that I can help the team and make a real impact this season.”

This is United’s eleventh signing of the summer and Head Coach Graeme Hart expressed his delight at bringing Cusack in.

“I’m thrilled that Abbie has joined the club on loan, she’s a player we’ve admired since last season and kept an eye on her development. We are excited to see what she can add to this group. I’d also like to say a big thanks to Celtic and Fran Alonso for helping with this.”

DUFCW take on Hibernian this evening at Foundation Park.
