FESTIVE FOODBANK DONATION TO LOCHEE COMMUNITY LARDER

28th December 2023

Last week, three members of our first-team squad were on hand to deliver food parcels containing various festive meals to Lochee Community Larder - a local foodbank.

Craig Sibbald, Kai Fotheringham and Scott McMann donated a selection of confectionery on behalf of the first-team squad, requested by the Larder, alongside essential every day produce to be re-distributed.

Furthermore, warm food parcels from the staff and players’ Christmas Lunch, held at Tannadice earlier that afternoon, were also gifted to be consumed by attendees at Thursday’s Cosy Space meeting within the venue.

A donation which follows on from the club’s contributions to the ‘Fans Supporting Foodbanks’ campaign, we were delighted to offer a helping hand to assist those in need this Christmas.

Lochee Community Larder, the busiest facility of its kind in the city of Dundee, provides support to residents of the local area through food provisions, drop-in sessions for advice on how to battle the Cost of Living Crisis and welcoming spaces in which to relax.

'THE FACILITY IS CRUCIAL'

Head of Football Operations, Ross Starke, also in attendance, expressed his satisfaction in providing relief to members of the community.

“We were delighted to visit the Lochee Community Larder to offer a much-needed festive donation ahead of Christmas.

“The facility is crucial for a great number of people, especially at this time of year and, on behalf of the club, I’d like to thank Sam, Marty and all of the volunteers for their vital efforts to assist people in the local community.

"I'd also like to highlight the generosity of our first-team squad, who contributed the supplies themselves”

He continued “Fans Supporting Foodbanks will be back in their usual spot, adjacent from the Main Entrance to the stadium on Tannadice Street, for this Friday’s match against Partick Thistle and we’d like to encourage our generous supporters to continue to contribute to this initiative.”
