CELEBRITY MANAGERS ANNOUNCED

21st February 2002

Lucky Dundee United fans are to get the chance to play at Tannadice and be managed by DUFC legends Dave Narey and Hamish McAlpine on 28th April 2002 - thanks to Football Aid and the support of the Club.

Football Aid has teamed up with the top clubs up and down the country to give supporters the opportunity to pull on the official strips and play on their idols' hallowed turf at the end of the season.

Founder of Football Aid, Scots businessman Craig Paterson said: "Football Aid gives everyone the chance to experience what it is like to pull on the jersey, run out of the tunnel and on to the pitch, whilst being managed by a club legend. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a dream come true for thousands of fans across the country."

The Managers will discuss tactics with their teams, hold the team-talks and lead the pre-match warm-ups before the match itself - and of course they'll be on hand to join in the post-match celebrations.

A total of up to 27 places are up for grabs at each club to fans who register the highest bids on the Football Aid website www.footballaid.com

Bidding has already started to close and eager fans are advised to get their bids in before the auction ends on March 6th.

With official endorsement from the game's ruling bodies, Football Aid is a unique venture aiming to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity. Around half the money generated from the project will go towards diabetes research, while local club-nominated charities and football authority charities will share the rest of the cash.

The project is supported by the SFA, the Scottish Premier League and the Scottish Football League in Scotland and the FA, the FA Premier League and Nationwide League in England.
