UNDER-21'S AIM TO RETURN TO WINNING WAYS

18th March 2002

After last week's disappointing performance versus Hearts at Forthbank Stadium, U-21's Manager Maurice Malpas is looking for a marked improvement from his young side this evening. "We are confident we have extracted the relevant lessons from our two recent setbacks and it is time now to get ourselves back on the rails", Maurice commented. "For us to achieve this, the lads will have to be at their very best as the Hibernian reserves will be out there to impress their new manager - equally, however, our side will want to show our manager what they are capable of."

First team players reclaiming match fitness are Derek Lilley, Jim Paterson (pictured) and Ronnie O'Brien whilst injured Stephen Carson drops out. An as-of-yet unnamed trialist will be fielded in a defensive role alongside a young formation comprising Jarvie, Fionda, Allum, Anderson, Cocozza, Reilly, McGowan, McMillan, O'Donnell, Winters, McConalogue, McMillan, McMenemy.

The match kicks off this evening at Tannadice Park at 7pm.
