PAUL PLEASED AT PARIS OPPORTUNITY

20th March 2002

Two days after Paul Gallacher's call-up to the national team, the United keeper expressed just how delighted he was to be selected to travel to France with the Scotland squad the following week: "I am extremely pleased, both for me and Tommo. We both have played in the Scotland youth sides from U-15's level upwards, so in a sense, it appears like just another step. But actually, it's a massive leap, and I suspect it hasn't quite sunk in yet."

21-year-old Gallacher, who to-date has made 58 first team appearances for United, continued to take the opportunity to thank the Club's coaches and Manager for their support over recent months and years and concluded by stating: "I think being involved on this new and exciting level is good news for the Club, and whilst I am thrilled to represent my county, I am equally looking forward to re-invest the experience I stand to gain in the international set up back into Dundee United."
