PERFORMANCE DISAPPOINTS MANAGER

29th April 2002

Earlier today, Manager Alex Smith was under no illusion about the lacklustre performance of his team against St Johnstone last Saturday. "The game was very disappointing as a football spectacle. It is one of these games which started with a slow pace and never really came to life. These type of matches can happen at the end of the season, even though everybody is aware of the responsibility to play well and win for Club and supporters. And whilst I really don't want to comment any further, I must say that we can take one or two positives from the match. Stuart Duff has again impressed and David McCracken has also put in another solid performance at the back. On top of that, the young lads, O'Donnell, Winters and Ogunmade have acquitted themselves well, too."

Looking ahead, Manager Alex Smith confirmed that the Club is working on a new contract offer for Stuart Duff. "We are currently putting a three-year contract together and are hopeful that negotiations will come to a conclusion by the end of the week."
