ALEX PRAISES EASTON AND MILLER

1st May 2002

Reviewing yesterday's closed door international trial match between Berti Vogts's Scotland 'B' and Dundee United, United Manager Alex Smith today stated: "I would say that it was a very useful exercise. It was played at a good pace and with a fair degree of skill. The occasion was of course hosted mainly for Berti Vogts's benefit so as to allow him to see as many Scottish footballers in as short a period as possible. At the same time, it was good experience for our young players, giving them a chance to establish themselves in the team and to put their wits against some of the best the country can offer. Outstanding for us were Easton and Miller - they did themselves no harm at all. Duff also put on a very sound performance as did young O'Donnell when he came on and impressed in the last twenty minutes of the game."
