Dev League: United 3 Hearts 3

3rd February 2016

A well earned fightback by United from three goals down made for an entertaining game at Montrose. By Ross Starke After a poor start, United found themselves down within five minutes when Dario Zannatta ran through to slot under Booth’s legs. Shortly after United created one of their few openings in the first half when Scott Fraser clipped a lovely free kick towards to back post and Harry Souttar was inches away from connecting. Hearts midfielder Rob Buchanan then tested the hands of Booth with a well driven shot from 20 yards, however the young goalie was more than up to the challenge beating it to safety. Things got worse for United when they failed to clear a Hearts attack and Callum Morrison ran in to make it 2-0 on 18 minutes. On 30 minutes, Buchanan would once again try his luck from 20 yards and this time drilled his shot home past Booth for 3-0. Shortly before half time, Scott Fraser gave United a glimmer of hope when he shot coolly past Hamilton in the Hearts goal from just inside the box. The second half started with United in the ascendency and they brought themselves right back into the game on 52 minutes when a diagonal ball in by Jamie Robson was spilled by Hamilton and Reghan Tumilty pounced to make it 3-2. United completed the comeback on 62 minutes when Scott Fraser capped a magnificent mazy run with a shot that deflected into the net. Dundee United: Booth, Tumilty, Robson, Davie, H.
