DUNFERMLINE PREVIEW

12th January 2018

There is no doubt that this has been a very tough week for everyone associated with Dundee United. So much has been said about the manner and the unexpectedness of the defeat against Falkirk last Saturday.

By Gareth Scott

The beauty about the game of football is usually a team has a chance to put things right pretty quickly and this is certainly the case when United make the trip to East End Park to play an in-form Dunfermline this weekend.

United have certainly dominated the Pars over the last two seasons. This season the Terrors have triumphed by 3-1 in Fife and then 2-1 at Tannadice at the start of December. These victories were inspired by Fyvie and Fraser so therefore it will be a much-changed United side lining up against Allan Johnston's men.

Csaba Laszlo has a big decision to make regarding United's line up and it will be very interesting to see his starting eleven. Craig Slater and Brandon Mason made starting debuts last weekend with Emil Lyng coming off the bench. All three are likely to feature in some way but a lot may depend on the hopeful impending return of Mark Durnan which may see a more familiar looking back line.

The one positive from last Saturday was the travelling band of Arabs. To take in excess of 1200 fans to an away game just after the festive period is phenomenal and the players are guaranteed to be keen to repay them this week. An away trip to East End Park always attracts a large United following and it's sure to be the same tomorrow.

There remains all to play for and three points would keep United in a good position. Let's do this!

C'MON UNITED!!!!!!

DAFC have introduced a new automated turnstiles system at East End Park this season, please follow this link to watch the video explanation.

All fans are respectfully requested to conduct themselves in a manner that does not bring the Club and its supporters into disrepute and adhere to the Ground Regulations and refrain from Unacceptable Conduct.

Supporters are advised to remain within the stand and not trespass onto trackside or the field of play.

Searches will be carried out at the turnstiles for any controlled containers and pyrotechnics. Under the Sporting Events Act 1985, being in possession of a pyrotechnic device at a football match, or attempting to bring a pyrotechnic device into a football stadium, is a criminal offence. Any person committing such an offence faces immediate arrest and a life time ban from the Club. Surfing flags are not permitted.

Dundee United would like to thank all supporters for their co-operation and continued backing of the team.
